This Privacy Policy explains how MyHomegirl AI, LLC, a Mississippi limited liability company ("MyHomegirl," "we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, and shares information when you use the My Homegirl texting service and the MyHomegirl.ai website (together, the "Service"). It's part of our Terms of Service.

We tried to write this in plain English. If anything is unclear, email us at admin@myhomegirl.ai.

The short version on training. We use customer conversations to improve and train Homegirl's AI. That means your messages, and the photos, voice notes, and videos you send, may be reviewed by our team and used as examples to train or tune AI models, including on Google Cloud. You can opt out of training at any time: text "no training" to Homegirl, or email admin@myhomegirl.ai recommended, confirm. Text STOP to stop all messages. Details are in Section 3. Our website may also use ad and analytics cookies and pixels; see Section 5 to opt out.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us when you text Homegirl:

Your phone number and, if you share them, your name or nickname.
Your messages, including everything you text Homegirl.
Photos, voice notes, and videos you send. Voice notes are transcribed into text.
Things you tell Homegirl about yourself and your life, like your goals, your schedule, people in your life, and how you're feeling. Please be thoughtful about what you share. If you share sensitive details, such as health, relationships, or finances, we will process them to provide the Service.

Information about other people. You may tell Homegirl about people in your life, like friends, family, or a partner. If Homegirl is in a group chat, we also receive the messages, names, and phone numbers of the people in that chat. We handle that information under this policy too. Anyone can ask us to access or delete information about them by emailing admin@myhomegirl.ai.

Information created when you use the Service:

Homegirl's replies to you, including GIFs she sends.
Memory. Homegirl saves notes and context from your past chats so she can remember what you talked about. To do this, we create "embeddings," which are numeric summaries of your messages that help her find relevant past context.
Message details, such as when messages were sent and delivered, how many messages you send each day, and whether you used iMessage or SMS.
Carrier and device details that come with text messages, such as your carrier or the type of messaging service used.

Information from our website:

Basic technical data like your browser type, device, pages viewed, links clicked, the page that sent you to us, and IP address, collected in server logs.
Cookies, pixels, and similar technologies. Our website may use cookies, pixels, tags, and similar tools from us and from our advertising and analytics partners. These tools may collect your IP address, browser and device details, the pages you visit, and how you got to our site. See Section 5 for details and your choices.

Payment information (planned): If we launch paid plans, payments will be processed by Stripe. Stripe collects your card details directly. We would receive limited details, like your plan, payment status, and the last four digits of your card, but not your full card number.

2. How we use your information

We use your information to:

Provide the Service, which means reading your messages and media, generating Homegirl's replies, and delivering them to you.
Remember context from past chats so Homegirl can be a real friend and accountability partner.
Send you replies, check-ins, reminders, service notices, and occasional updates about My Homegirl.
Enforce the daily message limit and other plan limits.
Improve and train Homegirl's AI (see Section 3).
Keep the Service safe, prevent abuse and fraud, investigate problems, and fix bugs.
Respond to you when you contact us.
Understand how people find and use our website, measure how well our ads work, and show My Homegirl ads on other sites and apps (see Section 5).
Follow the law and enforce our Terms.

We do not sell your personal information for money. We never use your conversations with Homegirl for advertising, and we never show you third party ads in your chats.

3. Using your conversations to improve and train Homegirl

We use customer conversations to improve and train Homegirl's AI. This is how she gets funnier, smarter, and better at being your friend.

What this means:

Your messages, Homegirl's replies, and content you send (such as transcribed voice notes and descriptions of photos or videos) may be used to improve Homegirl.
Authorized members of our team, or people working for us under confidentiality obligations, may review conversations to rate quality, fix bad replies, provide support, and keep the Service safe.
Conversations may be used as training examples to train or tune AI models, including through Google Cloud. A model trained on conversations may learn general patterns from them.
Before we use conversations for training, we take steps to remove phone numbers, names, contact details, and other information that directly identifies you. recommended, confirm

How to opt out:

To opt out of training, text "no training" to Homegirl, or email admin@myhomegirl.ai from or with the phone number you use with Homegirl recommended, confirm. We'll confirm by text. After you opt out, we will stop using your future conversations for training.
To delete your data, see Section 10.
To stop all messages, text STOP to Homegirl's number.

Once conversations have been used to train a model, it may not be possible to remove what the model has already learned from them. Opting out or deleting your data stops future use, and we will remove your conversations from training datasets we keep.

We share information only as described here.

Service providers. We use trusted companies to run the Service. They process information on our behalf to provide their services to us:

Sendblue, to send and receive iMessages and SMS messages.
OpenRouter and Google (Gemini models), to generate Homegirl's replies and understand photos, voice notes, and videos.
OpenAI, to transcribe voice notes, create embeddings for memory, and generate some replies.
Render, to host our servers and database.
Google Cloud, to train and tune Homegirl's AI models.
GIPHY, to search for and send GIFs. When Homegirl looks up a GIF, a short search phrase is sent to GIPHY.
Stripe (planned), to process payments if we launch paid plans.

These providers process your information to provide services to us, under their own terms and privacy policies.

Group chats. If Homegirl is in a group chat, her replies there are visible to everyone in it. Don't share anything in a group chat that you wouldn't want everyone there to see.

Legal reasons. We may share information if we believe it's required by law, a court order, or a valid government request, or if it's reasonably necessary to protect the safety, rights, or property of you, others, or MyHomegirl, or to investigate fraud or misuse.

Business changes. If MyHomegirl is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, sale of assets, or similar event, your information may be transferred as part of that deal. We will give you notice before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

Advertising and analytics partners. Our website may share information collected by cookies and pixels with the partners listed in Section 5, as described there.

With your permission. We may share information in other ways if you ask us to or agree to it.

We do not sell your personal information for money. We never share your conversations, your phone number, or your text messaging opt in or consent with advertisers.

5. Cookies, pixels, and ads

What we may use. Our website may use cookies, pixels, and similar technologies from advertising and analytics partners, including Meta (Facebook and Instagram), TikTok, Snap (Snapchat), and Google Analytics. These tools help us:

Understand how visitors find and use our website.
Measure whether our ads work, for example whether someone who saw an ad later visited our site or texted Homegirl.
Show My Homegirl ads to you, or to people like you, on other websites and apps.

What they collect. These tools may collect things like your IP address, browser and device details, cookie or advertising IDs, the pages you view, and the ad or link that brought you to our site. The partners may combine this with information they already have about you and use it under their own privacy policies.

What they never get. These tools are used on our website only. We never share your conversations with Homegirl, your phone number, or your text messaging opt in or consent with advertisers.

"Selling" and "sharing" under state law. Some US state privacy laws, such as the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA, treat sharing website data with ad partners for ads on other sites as a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information, or as "targeted advertising." We don't sell your information for money, but our use of these ad tools may count as selling or sharing under those laws. You have the right to opt out, as explained below.

You can opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information and of targeted advertising in any of these ways:

Email us. Email admin@myhomegirl.ai with the subject line "Do Not Share." You don't need to explain why. We'll stop sharing your information with ad partners for targeted ads, as far as we're able to connect your request to you.
Global Privacy Control. If your browser or extension sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we will treat it as a valid opt out request for that browser or device. We may not be able to link it to you on other devices unless you also email us.
Browser settings. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some browsers also block third party trackers by default. Blocking cookies may make parts of our website work less well.
Platform ad settings. You can control the ads you see in the ad settings of Meta, TikTok, Snapchat, and Google, and you can opt out of Google Analytics with Google's browser add on. On phones, you can limit ad tracking in your device's privacy settings.

Opting out of targeted ads doesn't mean you'll see no ads. You may still see ads that aren't based on your activity. We will not treat you differently for opting out.

7. Text messaging privacy

We use your phone number to send the messages described in our Terms of Service. We do not share your mobile information with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. Your text messaging opt in data and consent are never shared with third parties, except service providers like Sendblue that deliver our messages. Text STOP to opt out, START to opt back in, and HELP for help.

8. How long we keep your information

We keep your information for as long as you use the Service and as long as needed for the purposes in this policy, including memory and improving and training Homegirl, unless you ask us to delete it. We may keep some information longer where the law requires it, or to prevent fraud and abuse, resolve disputes, or enforce our Terms. Server logs are kept for shorter periods unless needed for security. When we no longer need information, we delete it or de-identify it.

9. How we protect your information

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, such as encrypted connections, access controls, and limiting who can see data. No system is completely secure, and text messages, especially SMS, travel through phone carriers and other networks we don't control. Please don't text Homegirl passwords, full card numbers, Social Security numbers, or other highly sensitive information.

Security incidents. If we learn of a security incident that affects your personal information, we will investigate and, where the law requires, notify you and the proper authorities without undue delay, including steps you can take to protect yourself.

10. Your choices and rights

Choices everyone has:

Stop messages: text STOP at any time. Text START to come back.
Get help: text HELP or email us.
Opt out of training: text "no training" to Homegirl, or email admin@myhomegirl.ai recommended, confirm.
Opt out of targeted ads: email admin@myhomegirl.ai with the subject line "Do Not Share," or turn on Global Privacy Control in your browser (see Section 6).
Delete your data: email admin@myhomegirl.ai from or with the phone number you use with Homegirl, with the subject line "Delete My Data." We will delete your personal information within 30 days recommended, confirm, except information we must keep as described in Section 8. Deleting your data also clears Homegirl's memory of you.

Privacy rights under state law. Depending on where you live, including California and other states with privacy laws, you may have the right to:

Know what personal information we collect, use, and share about you, and get a copy of it.
Correct information that's wrong.
Delete your personal information.
Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, or of targeted advertising (see Section 6).
Limit the use of sensitive personal information.
Not be treated differently for using your privacy rights.

How to make a request. Email admin@myhomegirl.ai with the subject line "Privacy Request" and include the phone number you use with Homegirl. To protect you, we'll verify the request, usually by confirming a code sent by text to that number. You may use an authorized agent to make a request for you, and we may ask for proof that they're authorized. We'll respond within the time required by law. If we deny your request, you can appeal by replying to our decision.

Outside the US. The Service is designed for people in the United States. If you use it from somewhere with its own privacy laws, such as the EU or UK, we process your information to provide the Service you asked for, for our legitimate interests in keeping it safe and improving it, with your consent where required, and to meet legal obligations. You may have additional rights, including the right to object and to complain to your local data protection authority.

11. Children

The Service is only for adults 18 and older. It is not meant for children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. Please don't add Homegirl to a group chat that includes anyone under 18. If you believe a minor is using the Service, email admin@myhomegirl.ai and we will delete their information.

12. Where your information is processed

MyHomegirl is based in the United States, and our service providers may process and store information in the United States and other countries. By using the Service, you understand that your information may be processed outside of where you live. We take reasonable steps to protect it wherever it is processed.

13. Links to other sites

Our website and Homegirl's messages may include links to other websites or services, like GIFs from GIPHY. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for their content or privacy practices. Please read their privacy policies.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll post the new version on this page and change the "Last updated" date. For important changes, especially changes to how we use conversations for training, we'll give you notice, such as by text message or on our website, before the change takes effect.
